SPECIAL NOTICE
New Worldwide Otterhound Health Study - NCSU & Canine Health Foundation
The Board of Directors of the OHCA along with the Health Committee are pleased to announce we have received a grant from the Canine Health Foundation to study the incidence of epilepsy in our breed. We wanted to notify you that you will be receiving an email from the researchers at North Carolina State University. This study is endorsed by our breed club. Your participation in this survey will be of help to all of us as we search for answers to this malady affecting our breed. We encourage you to participate especially if you have an Otterhound that has had seizures currently or in the past. Even dogs that have since passed away would be helpful for the study.
We are partnering with the North Carolina State University-Companion Animal Epilepsy Research Laboratory to conduct a survey-based study to learn more about the prevalence, clinical characteristics, and mode of inheritance of seizures in the Otterhound breed. We are sharing our database with the study investigators Dr. Karen Munana, DVM, DACVIM (Neurology). All survey responses will be handled with confidentiality.
If you have not received an email from us regarding this and would like to participate, simply Contact Us with your email address and we will forward it to NCSU for inclusion in the survey. If you wish to opt out of participating in the study, please respond to their email upon receipt or do not reply.
